Q: Are You Fully Licensed to Perform All Levels of Hospice Care?   
A: Yes, and hospice services are covered, in full or in part, by most insurance plans. Medicare and Medi-Cal have special hospice benefits that relieve many patients and families of virtually all their healthcare payment concerns. Hospice is covered by most private insurances too including HMO’s, etc. The ultimate goal is to allow a dear family member or friend to remain as restful, calm and pain-free as possible while moving toward the end of life.

Q: Do You Have Age or Other Restrictions for Admittance?
A: No, and we offer nurturing support during chronic illness and death, and also emotional guidance and care for afterwards, regardless of age. We provide pediatric hospice series both at your home and also in ours, including prescription pain relief and an introduction to Palliative Care Team which eases problems with breathing, fatigue, depression, insomnia, or bladder problems.

Q: Will Your Nurses And Social Workers Understand My Needs in My Language?
A: Yes, in over 12 languages our doctors, nurses, international aides and volunteers can provide compassionate end-of-life care and ongoing comfort. Our talented staff also offers nonverbal communication skills that translate in any language, including listening and spiritual support. We also provide bereavement counseling for extended family (in different languages) during the weeks and/or months afterward.

Q:  What Are Your Advanced Directives and Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) Policies?
A: We follow the Hospice Patient’s Alliance, which asks every patient and every family if they have finalized plans about end-of-life care. Often called “Advanced Directives,” we help you determine the patient’s uppermost concerns and wishes about being “resuscitated” in the event his breathing or her heart stops.
